HOW TO GET RID OF GUILT

As humans, we are bound to make mistakes. And those mistakes would certainly cling to our consciousness. Guilt is a baggage which keeps reminding us of our mistake. To some extent, guilt can bear positive consequences. But most of the times, it can be a constant pain which doesn’t let us live in peace. These are some of the ways to get rid of unnecessary guilt...

Forgive yourself

Guilt is an act where we punish ourselves constantly. So let’s accept that we are bound to make mistake and let’s accept that there is no good in carrying the mistake forward forever. Let’s forgive ourselves and free ourselves from guilt.

Make amendments

We may not live our life again to unwind the mistake. But we might try to compensate our mistake. A sorry might save a shattered relation, an explanation might heal someone’s ego.... so let’s recognise the reason for guilt and take a chance for makeup.

Turn it into a possibility

We have made some horrible mistake and that mistake might have changed the course of our life. Why not take it as an opportunity to build a new way to lead our life. Why not take it as a chance to review our personality.

Create a List

It might look funny.... but try to list out various situations of guilt that keeps lingering in your mind. Such a focus would enable you to evaluate and dissolve trifle reasons forever.

Accept

It is never possible to attain perfection. In the course of living our lives... we tend to make mistakes and keep learning from them. Our live mostly runs in a trial and error basis. Moreover, guilt belongs to a past situation where we might not have enough maturity to deal with the situation.

Get stronger

The more we get matured, the more we attain inner strength... we start taking control over our lives. And that’s certainly a situation where memories of unnecessary guilt get dissolved.

Share with someone else

We often feel ashamed of our guilt and try to bury deep in our heart. But sharing our moments of guilt with someone close to use could ease the burden of guilt on our mind. We might even get solace or suggestion from those with whom we have shared our guilt.
